Duval County
, including the city of Jacksonville is a major insurance, banking, and shipping center, as well as the site of a naval air station and many state offices, including the Vital Statistics Office of the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services. In 2004 retail trade was the largest of 20 major sectors in Duval County. It had an average wage per job of $25,661. Per capita income grew by 15.5% between 1993 and 2003 (adjusted for inflation.)
